Your Sent, Now Go!

Your Sent, Now Go.

We’re blessed to be a blessing.  God intends to use you to bless, heal, restore, and liberate a dark and hurting world.  We’re here for others: in our families and our community and in the world. Go to the need. Live missionally. What does this statement mean to you?  To me this means that we are not to stay within the walls of our church, but to go out into the world and make disciples of Christ.  We are to love others as Christ loves us. We are to love our family, we are to love those in our congregation, we are to love our neighbors, we are to love those in our community.  Our world is hurting in so many ways.  The need for this love is so great today.  The world has turned to hate and aggression to solve problems.  Love is the one thing that truly conquers all.  However, the love begins with me… you… all Christians!  What a better time than to show others love than at the beginning of a new year!  We just celebrated the joy of the birth of Christ, now we need to live into the love that he modeled for us in his life. Love is contagious.  When you show love, those around you are motivated to show love themselves to others, and so on.  Who have you shown love to today?  I’m sure you can show more love to others for the rest of today as well!  Be intentional about showing love.  Who have you supported or helped today?  There is still time to help and support others!  Be a blessing to those around you, don’t hold back, be bold and go out and begin to liberate others from the hurt and pain of this world.  Don’t be so focused on your own tasks. Make a difference in someone’s life today.  Don’t fear stepping out, God will be with you.  If you cannot get out, then support someone who can!  Financially, prayerfully, physically, emotionally.

“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12: 2, 3)

“You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5: 14 – 16)

”Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” (John 20: 21)
