{"id":160,"date":"2022-04-04T14:46:07","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T14:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lovingcultureministries.com\/?p=160"},"modified":"2022-04-04T14:46:07","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T14:46:07","slug":"own-your-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lovingcultureministries.com\/index.php\/2022\/04\/04\/own-your-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Own your Church!"},"content":{"rendered":"<body>\n<p>Good morning all.\u00a0 Wow what a busy weekend it was at my church!\u00a0 Saturday was our annual Trustees Cleanup Day.\u00a0 Mulching, weeding, lawn maintenance, building maintenance; all of the odds and ends to get the church ready for Easter and outdoor activities this summer.\u00a0 Sunday followed that up with a very full worship service with instrumentalists, choir, and dramatic readings in the morning.\u00a0 The afternoon held a very large confirmation service with over 20 kids participating in their confirmation.\u00a0 I was fully involved for both of the days.\u00a0 It gave me an opportunity to really test my new knee!\u00a0 Although I was very tired at the end of each day, my knee feels fine this morning.\u00a0 (No pain meds either!)\u00a0 It feels good to walk away from such a busy weekend serving the church.\u00a0 We had a large number of people pitching in to get all of this work done and to host such a meaningful set of services.\u00a0 The next 2 weekends will be just as busy and I will walk away with a \u201cgood tired.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The past 2 years many people were away from the physical church building.\u00a0 Fortunately, we had a small team that maintained the building and grounds for us.\u00a0 We did have a large team last year for the Trustee\u2019s Day, but we had an even larger team this year.\u00a0 The sanctuary was packed with people for all our services this weekend.\u00a0 People were smiling, talking with one another, and genuinely happy to be together.\u00a0 The church works better when people are together in person.\u00a0 This weekend demonstrated the power of individuals coming together to <em><u>Own The Church<\/u><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work of the church isn\u2019t defined by pastors and staff alone; it comes from each member actively participating in the life of Jesus Christ. Claim ownership of your church\u2019s mission, programs, and property. Each is an expression of how God is working among us! Support others. Be informed. Volunteer for a new role. <strong>Live like you are the church \u2013 because you are!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cAll of you together are Christ\u2019s body, and each of you is a part of it.\u201d<\/strong> (1 Corinthians 12: 27)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThis makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.\u201d<\/strong> (1 Corinthians 12: 26)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ideas for Action:<\/strong> Spend a few minutes on your church website or app to learn about some aspect of our ministry or mission that\u2019s new or unknown to you.
