Peace (Advent)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good day everyone.\u00a0 I am very excited as we walk through the journey of Advent toward the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day.\u00a0 Each week Christians reflect on a theme.\u00a0 The first week was Hope.\u00a0 We are called to offer the Hope in Jesus to the world.\u00a0 When we can reflect the light of Christ in our daily actions, when we have a hopeful attitude, when we have the confidence of the scriptures, we can attract others to God\u2019s Kingdom.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second week of Advent focuses on Peace.\u00a0 What does that mean to you? How do we find peace?\u00a0 How can we create peace?\u00a0 I think this is a natural progression from my message last week about Rest and Reflect.\u00a0 When we slow down, be grateful for our blessings, spend time away from distractions, make time to be with family or friends during advent, we can find peace.\u00a0 We need to be intentional about seeking peace especially in the frantic nature of the holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having an attitude of peace also attracts others to God\u2019s Kingdom.\u00a0 It will certainly cause people to pause and pay attention to you when you are at peace!\u00a0 I start each day taking a deep breath and setting my attitude for the day.\u00a0 When I start the day with an attitude of peace, I have a much better day.\u00a0 Certainly distractions, negativity, problems, challenges, roadblocks happen during the day, but when I have my peace armor on, I can move these aside and end with a successful day.\u00a0 The bible gives us 362 mentions of peace!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 16:33<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have told you all this so that you may have\u00a0peace<\/strong>\u00a0in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 14:27<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am leaving you with a gift\u2014peace<\/strong>\u00a0of mind and heart. And the\u00a0peace<\/strong>\u00a0I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don\u2019t be troubled or afraid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acts 10:36<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the message of Good News for the people of Israel\u2014that there is\u00a0peace<\/strong>\u00a0with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet peace begin with me, let this be the moment now. With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To take each moment and live each moment in peace, eternally. Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
